Hi, I’m Karn (he/they) and I’m a jack of various trades.
🍩 I’m the Digital Communications Lead at Doughnut Economics Action Lab which helps create economies that are regenerative and distributive by design.
🎮 I’m a game developer; I worked in the games industry for many years before switching gears to focus on the climate crisis. See the games I’ve worked on.
🌎 I’m a climate activist – I originally left my full time games job in 2016 to free up more time for this when I got involved in the Divest Parliament campaign.
✊ I’m an organiser. In 2018 I helped found the Game Workers branch of the IWGB – the UK’s first trade union for workers in the games industry.
✍ I’m a writer. I write about games, the climate crisis, technology, and more. You can explore my professional writing here, and I also write a blog (sometimes).
👩💻 I’m an open source tinkerer. I (occasionally) create game development tutorials and free resources including scripts, assets, tools, and even entire games and make them open source or public domain.
🚵♀️ I’m an outdoorsy person (when I’m not indoors, which is.. often). I love hiking, hillwalking, cycling, cycle touring, camping, wild swimming, all the good stuff. I also like to take photos when I’m out and about.
